I'm incredible passionate about a lot of things. I'm super passionate about inspiring people through story telling be it theatre, music, or right now my blog. When I'm not working passionately on something I feel out of sorts, lacking in motivation and honestly leaning towards depression. I think it's important to be real with you all and not just say, I love fashion and you should love yourself (even though I love fashion and everyone should love themselves first and foremost haha). I know there is so much more to self love and confidence, then just saying it or reading about it online. Finding what your passionate about is a doorway to self confidence. It may seem disconnected but for me when I feel the most confident, when I feel the most focused and I feel the most myself is when I'm working on something I'm passionate about. Due to some ongoing issues with my health, I've been unable to pursue my greatest passion for the last year. I've pursued other dreams of mine, hence The B Word, in the mean time. For a long time I felt like I let what was happening to me, take over, negative thoughts becoming more and more regular. "What if I can never sing again?", I thought. Typing that now, I still tear up. I refuse to allow this bump to derail me and for these thoughts to become my reality. In these times I force myself to go outside more. I force myself to dress in bright colors. I force myself to keep going because this too shall pass, I will be able to sing again and I will, above all, always live passionately.

Keep going, keep searching and keep living a life that's yours. If you don't have something that wakes you up in the morning, how can we find it? You deserve to be excited everyday! Successful people always say find what you're passionate about and you'll never work a day in your life ++

One of my favorite composers and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim, wrote in a song, "Anything you do, let it come from you. Then it will be new" -Sunday in the Park with George

I have written five drafts of this blog post, a new record. So I will leave this blog post with that quote. It resonates with me deeply because this is how I feel about all things in life, let it come from you. Run your race for you and don't look left or right. Why wasting your time being the B version of someone else, when you can be dope as yourself. This applies to my fashion sense. I get so much more satisfaction out of outfits I put more creativity into, like this weeks look. I shopped my own closet. This is an Adidas NEO sports bra under a long hemmed button up, that I wrapped and tied in the back to look like a wrap high low. I love new, innovative ideas in all mediums of art.

ALSO sweatpants and heels haha

American Hustle

This is my shmoney coat, it makes me feel like I have a huge bank account. Pieces that aren't crazy expensive but make you feel super expensive are what I live for and the definition of balling on a budget.

If I could live in any other time I usually say the 1970's because I love the fashion and music. I would have been UP in the club, Studio 54 that is haha. As for the sociopolitical climate of the 1970's not so much. I like have options and rights as a woman, so 2015 is an alright place to be, with so much progress needing to be made for human rights still.

I haven't done a casual post in awhile. I get asked a lot if I wear what I post and I usually do. If I own the clothes and blog about them, I have worn them. Do I wear heels everyday? NO, I really love being comfortable the older I get (I act like I'm elderly) but I just have a new found appreciation for sweatpants. I add Brianna swag to sweatpants of course!

I'm wearing jeans from Charlotte Russe and I love them!!

ALSO I want to shoutout to all the women in the plus size community who have supported me. I'm so grateful that super dope people, who have inspired me think I'm poppin. Thank you and thank you to my readers who stay tuned every week! I'm so grateful ++

Love Lookbook

I love putting together lookbooks for you all and I really love the idea of celebrating people you love on Valentine's Day. Do I need a special day to tell people I love and appreciate them, no but it is nice to have a reminder. So many people get caught up in the "I'm single" blues, I can't front and say I don't have moments, but let's look at Valentine's Day differently. It's okay to be single and celebrate that and yourself on that day! TREAT YOURSELF!!

If you've read my past posts you know, I believe that our relationships with ourselves are the most important. So go ahead, celebrate you! If you have loved ones you want to celebrate, do it!! I love and appreciate all of you, for real. Your edible arrangement is on its way, chocolate strawberries included ++

I put together a sweet, cute outfit and a sexier night look. I usually opt for a more sultry look but I LOVE the way the sweet outfit came together. I felt so confident in it, channeling the power of the Pink Ladies from Grease. Both outfits would be great for an Valentine's Day activities. Tell me what you all are doing on the 14th??

Facts: I love to dress in all one color. Facts: I'm obsessed with the color olive. Facts: February is a weird mid-season place for fashion.

I love wearing all one color because I think it looks sleek and cool. I know some people think it's a boring outfit and a passing trend but Yeezy and I disagree (haha).

Today I looked in the mirror and for the first time in a long time, I loved what I saw. I've talked in past posts about working on confidence. I believe I'm a confident person but today was different. I actually caught myself in the mirror and was like wow, I love not just like, what I see. I was caught up in my high cheekbones, my nose, my hair color. These things I've seen a million times but I took time to really notice and appreciate today. It straight up moved me. It felt great, powerful. Did I just level up in my body positive journey?? ++
