Mindset

The warmer the weather is the brighter the colors I wear are. I also feel like when I'm feeling summer, I only wear maxi dresses. If we go back to last years post, I was for sure wearing maxi dresses during the summer. On me maxi dresses are to the ankle but I still love them!
Everyone knows I've been wanting to go on a tropical vacation for a solid two years. I keep joking that I want to be on a beach drinking out of a pineapple. By joking I mean I'm completely and utterly serious haha! So I'm going to dress my vacation into existence with this fuchsia maxi dress from City Chic.

If you follow me on snap chat (@briannamcdonn) then you saw I got some of my favorite plus size bloggers and models together for a #BEinyourskin photoshoot. I'm SO excited to release the content we created, amazing interviews and photos! It's so important to have some real friends in this plus size fashion industry because man can it be crazy. Strong women empower other strong women ++

Blue

To be real, I've been wanting to take some time off. When I think about the things I'm doing and what I could realistically give up or adjust, I always get a pit in my stomach when I think about blogging. I love blogging. I love the community of followers, other plus size blogger and models and opportunities I've had because of The B Word. I've been running myself hard recently and really contemplating falling off for awhile. I put together this huge #BEinyourskin photoshoot this weekend with some of my favorite plus size bloggers, models and just all around dope ass women. It was a really inspiring day, not just because we were doing a shoot for my campaign but because being with women who have similar experiences is so important. I don't have very many plus size friends or friends who are in this "industry", so being around these women always leaves me feeling reenergized.

I feel reenergized to continue creating my own content, to continue to inspire women to feel bossed up and to keep blogging on my own terms. I will not be pumping out as much content for brands but I will continue to create content that is true to me.

I need to shout out my team as well. I have some of the most talented, genuine people around me. I am fiercely protective of my inner circle. If you ride for me, I will ride for you heavy. Everyone always tells me I have the best friend and that is understatement. My friends and I were meant to be in each others lives and I would be absolutely nothing without them. Whenever I feel like taking a break, they help me put things in perspective. I do this for not only me but for my family and friends, my inner circle.

Summer '16

This was such a fun shoot! As soon as Forever 21 sent me these pieces, I knew I wanted to style and shoot these with a nineties Saved By the Bell, 90210 vibe. My best friend is a makeup artist and she's amazing, follow her here

I hope you love these summer vibes as much as I do ++

Wandering

Have you heard of Dia & Co?! I'm actually obsessed. Let me just say right here this isn't a sponsored post, I'm just passionate about awesome plus size fashion. Dia & Co is a plus size personalized styling service. For $20 I received my first box of clothes. First you sign up and do a questionnaire about your personal style, answering questions about what parts of my body I feel comfortable showing off, do I like patterns, etc. Then you get a box of clothes picked just for you to try and on, shipped to your home. You keep and pay for the clothes you want and you return what you don't. It's such a fun service! I thought it would be perfect to see what kind of items I could be sent that would be different from my typical in mall store shopping. So fun to get two outfits that you get to try, style and keep all in the comfort of your own home.

This is my second box from Dia & Co, I was super excited to open it because I LOVED my first. I got this orange fit and flare dress, a skirt, a longline vest, a necklace and a top. My stylist had noticed from my social media that I've been wearing more color, which I have been haha, so she sent me this orange dress. Anyone who knows me know I liveee for an orange dress. This dress shape is a little different from what I would pick out for myself and honestly probably wouldn't have tried it on. The second I zipped it up, I fell deeply, madly in love for this dress that felt like it was made for my body. That is why I love, love, LOVE Dia & Co, because it allows you to try different things with fashion without committing to buying the pieces.

This color and hat gave me the perfect summer vacation feeling, which is exactly how I'm trying to dress now that the weather is warm! Plus the wind was in my favor when shooting haha! Thank you Dia & Co ++
